Musician Statement
So
what is a Beautiful Mistake? It all started when I was talking
with another artist at the Benicia Farmer's market on a
Thursday afternoon. He was explaining how he used printing
presses to create original art. He told me that his end
result never really matched the ideas or concepts that he
used to create the art pieces. I look at him and said, "Yeah
like a beautiful mistake." Both of our eyes lit up.
At that moment I realize that a tremendous amount of energy
in my art was spent in vain. I was trying to control the
entire outcome. Of course I'm realizing I have no control
and there are forces greater than myself guiding the final
product. When we were kids, we used to finger paint or cut
paper snowflakes, and the end result could be a total mess
or something gorgeous. We didn't over think the end result.
We were just in the moment of creation.
And
so I bring you Beautiful Mistakes. These songs are my way
of connecting with the rest of the world, and especially
you the listener. They were gifts handed to me through dreams,
nature, experiences, and the people in my life. I hope that
they make you say, "Yeah I get that feeling too."
I really enjoyed the journey in bringing you these songs.
